Kerala could get a Sleeper Train
The planned route from Mangaluru to Thiruvananthapuram is one of the busiest in the state. So, Offcial here are talking about introduing new sleeper trains. These trains are so popular that many trips run at more than 160% occupancy meaning that the trains are packed even in off-season months. Routes like Mangaluru Central–Thiruvananthapuram and Thiruvananthapuram–Kasaragod are always overbooked.
Railway officials say that adding more high speed trains is not that easy. The tracks are very busy and running new trains may mean stopping or rescheduling regular trains for some time to clear the path. People in UP are happy that the state is the Vande Bharat hub.
