In a bid to weed out duplicate applications, Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Board (UPSEB) is all set to cancel registration of more than 12,888 students appearing for UP Board Exam 2019.
The decision comes after the newly introduced software detected names of the applicants who registered more than once from separate centres.
However, a raft of measures have been taken by the board to stop mass cheating.
Last year, CCTV cameras were installed at the examination centres.
The CCTV cameras were installed following mass cheating reports during UP Board Exam 2017.
In 2018, close to 15% of registered examinees did not turn up for board exam, which experts say may be result of strict anti-cheating measures and could lead to a dip in pass percentage.
UP board exam 2019 will be held in February next year.
