In order to improve the standards of education quality in state-run schools and ensure regular attendance, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath wants pictures of faculty members posted on school walls.

This step will be taken to check and cross-check from students if those teachers’ whose images are on the wall are attending school regularly or not. This decision was made at a meeting in Gorakhpur on Sunday.

In the meeting, UP CM also expressed his concerns over the dropping quality of education in the primary and high school in the state. He said that officials would conduct surprise inspections and reviews in the schools. Students would be queried on the regularity of their teachers. Students would be asked on the regularity of their teachers. He said some teachers in these schools use proxies to teach while they themselves draw hefty salaries without doing any work. This would no longer be tolerated, Adityanath told officials.

Notably, Yogi Adityanath has taken several stirring decisions ever since he swore as the CM of Uttar Pradesh in March. Last month, he decided to form an anti-land mafia task force to tackle the menace of land grabbing in the state. Interestingly, Yogi Adityanath allowed distribution of thousands of school bags with images of the previous CM of UP Akhilesh Yadav. According to reports, the UP CM did not want to waste the money of public for political ego. More than 30,000 such school bags were printed before Akhilesh Yadav had to leave his CM post.
