Uttar Pradesh Sub-Inspector Manoj Kumar recently got famous for his video which got viral around 3 months ago, in which he was shouting ‘Thain Thain’ during an encounter, got shot in the hand in an encounter.

“Two men on bike fired at the police during which sub-inspector Manoj Kumar got injured. During the counter-firing, a criminal was also injured,” said police officer Yamuna Prasad.

According to the police officials, they were informed earlier about two miscreants coming on a motorbike, so they had taken positions near Alianekpur tri-junction in Sambhar district. When police saw the miscreants they signalled them to stop but the criminals opened fire on the police team. During which SI Manoj Kumar got injured as he got a bullet shot in his hand.

In self-defence, Police officers also fired on miscreants hitting Saddam (one of the two criminals) in the leg and he was arrested later. Though the other accuse escaped.

In October 2018, UP’s Sambhal district Sub-Inspector Manoj Kumar displayed a rare form of bravery when his gun failed him during the encounter. He had no option but to tackle the dire situation creatively. The cop mimicked gunshots by shouting ‘thain thain’ from his mouth to scare away a group of criminals. The video went viral on social media.
