The year 2020 was not so great year for cinema. The coronavirus pandemic vastly affected the shooting of several big films.
There were very few movies that were released this year compared to other years. But as now vaccine is more prevalent and conditions are going back to normal, we can hope to see the flood of films for film lovers in 2021.
Though theatres have now been opened and films are also being released, people are still scared of the corona and people are not going to watch films in the theatre. So, let’s take a look at the most awaited Bollywood films of the year 2021
Shabaash Mithu
The year 2021 will begin with this biopic movie. The first biggest film of the year is ‘Shabaash Mithu’. It is based on the life of India’s women’s cricket legend Mithali Raj. Taapsee Pannu is in the lead role in this biopic.
She has worked hard to play the role of Mitali which was evident when the first poster of the film came out. The first glimpse of this movie came in 2020. Taapsee could be seen wearing a round hat just like Mitali in the posters and she looked quite similar to the character.
Sooryavanshi
This year, Akshay Kumar’s biggest film ‘Sooryavanshi’ was not able to release because of the Pandemic. The film which was set for release on 24th March 2020, is now going to be released in the year 2021. Akshay Kumar will be seen in the role of a police officer in the film.
The director of the film is Rohit Shetty. The film also features Ranveer Singh as inspector Sangram Bhalerao and Ajay Devgn as DCP Bajirao Singham.
Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai
Bollywood’s ‘ Sultan ‘ Salman Khan’s most awaited film ‘ Radhe ‘ will be one of the biggest films of the year 2021. Salman’s fans have been waiting for this film for a long time. The film further pursues the story of the film ‘ Wanted ‘ which was released in the year 2009.
In that film too, Salman played Radhe’s role. The film will be released on Eid of 2021. Alongside Salman, this film also features Disha Patani, Randeep Hooda, and Jackie Shroff.
Brahmastra
Ayan Mukherjee’s film Brahmastra has been in production for a long time. This film features Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor for the very first time. Brahmastra is a big-budget film and is supported by an amazing cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Dimple Kapadia, Divyendu Sharma, and Mouni Roy. As per reports, Brahmastra will be the first in the part of this Trilogy.
’83
Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone starrer ‘83’ is in the limelight since its announcement. The film is based on the World Cup-winning team India of 1983.
Ranveer Singh is playing the role of India’s Captain Kapil Dev in the film while Deepika is playing the role of her wife Romi. As per reports the film will be released in March 2021.
Satyamev Jayate 2
In addition to Radhe on Eid of the year 2021, John Abraham’s film Satyamev Jayate 2 is also ready for release. Two big films are going to collide on the same day this year. This movie will be the sequel to John’s Satyameva Jayate in 2018. The prequel was greatly loved by the audience and hopefully, the sequel on Eid will also be welcomed by the fans.
Maidan
Ajay Devgan’s film ‘ Maidan’ is set for a release on 15th October 2021 on the occasion of Dussehra. The film is inspired by the true story of Syed Abdul Rahim.
Abdul Rahim was a football coach from 1950 to his death in 1963 and was managing the Indian national football team. The film will see Ajay Devgan in the character of Abdul Rahim.
Lal Singh Chaddha
Aamir Khan’s film ‘ Lal Singh Chaddha’ has been waiting for a long time. Earlier, the film was to be released on Christmas Eve in December 2020. But now it will come to cinemas in Christmas of 2021. Kareena Kapoor Khan would be seen with Aamir in the film. Aamir’s many looks in the film have surfaced and he will be seen in the role of a Sikh person. This movie is the adaption of the famous Hollywood movie ‘Forrest Gump’.
Cirkus
Ranveer Singh is set for a double role in the film cirkus. Rohit Shetty is set to direct this film. This movie will be the second time the duo of actor-director Ranveer Singh and Rohit Shetty will entertain the audience. With Ranveer in lead, this film also includes, Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Sharma, and Johnny Lever as co-actors. The film will be released in 2021.
