“This refers to an opinion article with the heading “Who is Kathirvel Kailasam?” written by one of our independent contributors and published in our opinion section on 29th April 2017, which was accompanied by a disclaimer stating that the opinion article is a reflection of the personal views of the contributor and is not the opinion of Newsd. Subsequently, it was formally brought to our notice, by one of the parties referred to in the opinion, that there was another version and side to the subject matter of the said opinion. Ideally as a responsible and conscientious news media house, we would have liked for the said party to have shared their account on the subject matter, however, in the absence of the same, in good faith and in order to maintain an amicable status in the matter we have resolved to take the opinion off our website. We also regret any hurt or distress which the aforementioned opinion may have caused, though our intention was simply to engage in unbiased and independent reporting which does not represent anyone nor aims to undermine anyone.”
