The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will declare the fresh dates for the pending interview round of the civil service examination (CSE) after May 3 i.e., when the lockdown is lifted, as per the information by the commission. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended lockdown till May 3 all across India.
The UPSC combined medical services (CMS) examination, the Indian Economic Service (IES), National Defence Academy (NDA)-I and the Indian Statistical Service (ISS) exam 2020 have been delayed till further notice.
The decision on the NDA-II exam will be made after June 10. According to UPSC, the revised date of the CAPF 2020 exam will also be notified soon.
Although the dates for the civil services prelims 2020, engineering services main and the geologist services main had already been released, if the coronavirus situation deteriorates, the same date can be changed. As of now, the exam will be held according to the schedule.
To ensure social distancing, the test schedule has been changed because India has been infected with coronavirus or COVID-19. So far, more than 11,000 people in the country have been infected with the virus, and more than 300 people have lost their lives.
At the same time, UPSC chairperson and members have decided to voluntarily waive 30% of their basic salary from April 2020 for a period of one year, starting in April 2020. In addition, all officials and employees of UPSC voluntarily provide PM Relief Fund – PM CARES.
