During the violent riots/siege in the US Parliament complex Capitol Hill, a person was photographed with his feet on the table of US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. That man has now been arrested on Friday. The law enforcement authorities have been informed about it.

NBC News reported that the man has been identified as 60-year-old Richard Barnett of Benton county, Arkansas. The man was taken into custody on charges of entering the restricted places in his home state as well as violence and theft of public property.

A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Arkansas told NBC News that Barnett has been arrested and placed at the Washington County Detention Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. After Wednesday’s riots, photos of other miscreants, including Barnett, on social media platforms went viral. The incident took place when the proceedings were underway to seal the victory of future President Joe Biden in Parliament.

NBC News reported that a New York Times reporter tweeted that he spoke with Barnett after the incident. In one video, Barnett claimed he took the envelope from there. He said that he did not steal it. He also claimed that he knocked on the door of the speaker’s office, but other rioters pushed him inside. At the moment, it is not clear whether Barnett has a lawyer or not.

Pelosi’s aide has said her office was ransacked on Wednesday and a laptop was stolen from the conference room. It was used only for presentations. The news outlet further reported that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has requested the public’s help to identify Trump supporters who had made a fuss during the course. Reportedly, five people have died including a police officer in these riots.
