At a wedding ceremony near Loni’s Tronica City in Ghaziabad, a girl refused to marry a man as she found him in a drunk state, said the police.
During the Jaimala ceremony, the groom was unable to stand properly as he was heavily drunk, according to a relative of the girl. After the girl solidified her decision of not marrying the drunk groom, the baarat went back.
Following all this, a relative of the girl offered to marry her to which she agreed. Later, the marriage was formalized between the girl and her relative.
A similar instance was reported from Bihar on March this year where a bride called off her wedding after she found her groom who was so drunk that he couldn’t even stand properly, or perform rituals correctly.
