Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government released the academic calendar 2020-21 for state universities and affiliated colleges on Friday, May 8. Therefore, with the exception of new admissions (first-year students), classes for all students enrolled in universities in the state will begin from July 6.

Universities are required to complete admissions by August 14. Classes of first year students to start from August 17.

Principal secretary (higher education), Monika S Garg said in the order that the university will cut down on winter holidays and other off days in order to get more teaching days to ensure that the course is completed on time. In addition, teachers increased teaching time.

It is also required that universities and colleges located in the area under the green zone immediately begin to evaluate the answer copies. As per the order, The answer scripts kept in the districts identified under the red and orange zones can be brought to the green zone with proper discussion by the district administration.

Garg has been looking for work plans for all universities by May 12, at the latest, in order to transfer copies of answers copies from the red and orange zones to the green zones and conduct pending exams. She also suggested that the university increase the assessment bonus from the existing Rs 40,000 to rs 60,000 only for this year.

In view of the Covid-19 crisis, the government has also de-centralised the evaluation work.
