Uttar Pradesh: Month after BJP MP & MLA got entagled in a shoe fight, ruckus created at party function

Sant Kabir Nagar: The Bharatiya Janata Party workers seminar at Mehndawal was cancelled due to dispute among workers. The workers raised slogans against Sant Kabir Nagar Member of Parliament, Sharad Tripathi who early in March got entangled with Menhdawal MLA Rakesh Singh Baghel and beat him with a shoe over the placement of names on a foundation stone of a project in the area.

The conference of BJP workers at the Jagdguru Shankaracharya Inter College in Mahdaval was due to take place on Saturday. In which, the state President Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey was set to arrive. Before the start of the function, workers in the support of Rakesh Singh Baghel and the MLA Digvijay Narayan Choubey alias Jai Chaubey, started raising slogans. It was announced from the stage, that no slogans should be raised in support of a particular person.

An appeal was made from the stage to stay calm but the sloganeering of the workers became increasingly intense. Fierce workers began breaking chairs, the chaos continued for 20 minutes. Later, the police led by CO Mehndawal ran off the workers with stick and scold.

Earlier on March 6, during the meeting of the District Planning Committee in the Collectorate Auditorium, Sharad Tripathi and Menhdawal MLA Rakesh Singh Baghel got entangled in the meeting. The argument broke on the issue over the placement of names on a foundation stone of a project in the area, the two began to threaten each other. At the same time, the MP pulled out the shoe from his leg and starting hitting the MLA.
