Veteran journalist Raghavachari passes away at 80

Raghavachari began his career as a student union leader in CPI's All India Students Federation and worked as its state (then united AP) president.

Veteran journalist Raghavachari passes away at 80

Veteran journalist C Raghavachari passed away in the early hours of Monday, October 28 at a private hospital in Amaravati after a prolonged illness. His mortal remains are shifted to Makdoom Bhavan at Himayatnagar.

Raghavachari was a voracious reader, a prolific writer and a Social Movement’s activist, who later became a journalist in Visalaandhra newspaper run by the CPI. In a short span of time, he rose to become its editor and was at the helm for over 32 years.

Hailing from Warangal district, now in Telangana, Raghavachari began his career as a student union leader in CPI’s All India Students Federation and worked as its state (then united AP) president.

As a dedicated journalist, Raghavachari always believed in value-based journalism. His writings have always been an inspiration to younger generations.

On his sudden demise, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao expressed his condolences. In a message, Rao described Raghavachari as a committed Journalist and a man of values and principles for social activism. He conveyed his condolences to the members of bereaved family.
