To celebrate Vinayaka Chaturthi, you must first rise early in the morning, clean your home, take a holy bath, and dress in spotless clothing. Avahana and Pratishthapana should be omitted if Lord Ganesha is installed in your home and is venerated daily, as these two rituals are reserved for newly purchased statues of Lord Ganesha made of clay or metal.
