Madhya Pradesh: Exchange of alleged messages on WhatsApp, world’s most popular chat platform, between two bureaucrats are viral on the internet. The messages are said to have exchanged during the time of Legislative Assembly Elections in the state, between Shahdol Collector Anubha Srivastava and Deputy Collector Puja Tiwari in which, the former asks her deputy to make BJP win poll, in case she wants to become an SDM(Sub-Divisional Magistrate).

Both the sides allegedly involved in the exchanged have called the chat’s screenshot that has gone viral to be fake.

The following alleged conversation is said to have taken place between the two:

Deputy Collector: Mam, in Sector 2, the situation is under control but in Jaitpur that is not happening. Congress is building the lead and Uma Dhurve has many supporters.

Collector: I want clean sweep of Congress. I am calling the RO(Returning Officer) of Dehariya. Puja, if you want the charge of SDM, then make BJP win in Jaitpur.

Deputy Collector: Okay mam, I will manage. But, there won’t be an enquiry right?

Collector: I am there. If you work hard, as soon as BJP government is formed, you will be made SDM.

The elections in Madhya Pradesh took place in 2018. The results were declared on December 11, along with the Assembly Elections results of Rajasthan, Mizoram, Chhattisgarh and Telangana. In Madhya Pradesh, Congress won 114 seats in the 230-seat state.

While, in Jaitpur, Congress candidate Uma Dhurve was defeated by BJP hope Manish Singh.

“We are going to write to Election Commission to remove the collector and hold a re-poll in Jaitpur,” former MLA & Congress leader Rampal Singh told press.
