She has expanded the purpose of the day to encourage people to appreciate and protect beaches all over the globe.

She is also a staunch advocate and activist for environmental protection, beach preservation, and sharing the splendor of these extraordinary natural resources. She is the proprietor of WalkintheSand.com and FloridaSmart.com and has written for over a decade about Florida’s beaches.

Walking in the sand is an enjoyable method to exercise your legs. It enables you to walk more slowly and appreciate nature while getting a better exercise, expending more calories, and appreciating the experience more.
