It is all over the news that hunk Kartik Aaryan is all set to star in the remake of Sanjeev Kumar’s classic film ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’. The love triangle will have Kartik stepping into the shoes of Sanjeev Kumar from the original. Though the makers are yet to confirm this however there were also reports of Taapsee Pannu being considered for a role in the film.
Taapsee Pannu’s name was one of the strongest contenders for the female lead for the remake of ‘Pati, Patni Aur Woh‘. From the time the film was announced, there were rumours that Juno Chopra, along with T-Series and director Mudassar Aziz were keen on casting her as the Patni(wife) opposite Arjun Kapoor.
But soon, Arjun walked out of the film due to his Panipat schedules and Kartik Aaryan was roped in. Today, in Mumbai Mirror, Taapsee has given out a statement saying she was replaced at the last minute without even being informed. Taapsee also claimed that the director of the film was told to ‘take someone else’ instead of her.
Now a little birdie revealed what conspired in the team. According to a report in Bollywood Bubble, a source said “Taapsee had given her dates and shifted her other films to accommodate this one in February and March. But it was Kartik who told the makers to get her replaced. He wasn’t too keen on sharing screen space with Taapsee and hence got her removed from the romcom.”
It’s sad that even today, actors are threatened by consummate heroines. Although Taapsee is a big name in the industry today, thanks to her credibility and her acting prowess, we wonder why Kartik had to oust another Bollywood ‘outsider’ to feel secure in his own space.
