Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra while campaigning in Raebareli, was spotted having an interaction with snake charmers and even playing with dangerous reptiles fearlessly.
Vadra, who was campaigning in eastern Uttar Pradesh on Thursday for the remaining stretch of the national election, was interacting with a group of snake charmers and discussing the issues they face when suddenly she help up snakes in her hands from a box and petted them.
Priyanka was seated on chair, looking down at the snakes coiled in boxes. The snake charmers, squatting on the ground, were heard complaining to her about their issues.
On seeing this, her supporters got worried for her safety but, Priyanka told the man standing behind her not to be afraid.
“It won’t do anything. Why are you afraid?” Priyanka could be heard.
Though snake charming has long been associated with tradition, it is a banned activity under the Wildlife Protection Act.
