A user has reported that a WhatsApp bug is deleting media files on Android devices and the new update is available for the beta user that is creating trouble for the users. It is recommended not to update the app until the issue is resolved.

The popular messaging app releases new features and tools every now and then in order to make the experience better but it seems that the latest update for the WhatsApp beta has made the experience troublesome.

Disturbed by the update the users took to Twitter to report the bug faced by them after updating the app for Android 2.19.66 version.

The tweets said that after downloading the WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.19.66 version they were unable to access the media files in the WhatsApp group chat although they could find them in their gallery. They also reported that because of the bug, they have also lost some important files and documents.

This was not it, the users were also experiencing issues in WhatsApp status where the display picture of contact is shown grey when opened under the status window. They also reported that the statuses of their friend appeared black when opened.  However, it is said that the issue is partially solved but there are some users who are still experiencing it.

Therefore it is advised not to download WhatsApp beta for Android 2.19.66 and 2.19.67 versions to avoid loss of media files.

WhatsApp has till now not commented anything about the matter and their reply on the bug is still awaited.
