John Regan, a renowned musician, songwriter, and bassist, passed away on April 7 at the age of 71. He passed away at his home in Wappingers Falls, Poughkeepsie, New York, and the cause of his passing is unknown.
Pam Brooks, a star on I95 WRKI, paid tribute to Regan by publishing a picture and writing that she was at a loss for words over his passing. She added that he was widely known as “Skinny” and that, in addition to being a legendary bassist, he cherished his family and friends.
John Regan was best known for his tenure with Frehley’s Comet.
John Regan, born on 28 October 1951, joined the rock band Frehley’s Comet in 1984. Former guitarist for Kiss, Ace Frehley, founded the legendary band.
Only three albums were published by Frehley’s Comet during its time in the music industry. This began in July 1987 with their self-titled debut album. The album debuted at number 43 on the US Billboard 200 chart. This was followed in May 1988 by Second Sighting. The album received favourable reviews and debuted at number 81 on the US Billboard 200.
Trouble Walkin’ was the name of the group’s final album, which was released in 1989. Prior to this, in 1988, they published an EP titled Live+1. The EP contained five recordings and peaked at number 84 on the US Billboard 200.
The group was well-known for songs such as Rock Soldiers, Into the Night, We Got Your Rock, Calling to You, Stranger in a Foreign Land, and Time Ain’t Running Out.
The ensemble also included Anton Fig, Richie Scarlet, Arthur Stead, Tod Howarth, Billy Ward, and Jamie Oldaker, in addition to Frehley and Regan.
John Regan departed Frehley’s Comet in 1990 and went on to play with The Rolling Stones, Dave Edmunds, Robin Trower, David Lee Roth, and John Waite, among others.
In 2014, Regan was featured on the radio programme Café Italia. He then joined another band, Four By Fate, with whom he recorded the album Relentless.
