Ramayana Trailer Postponed: The much-awaited public launch of the trailer for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana has been postponed. Producer Namit Malhotra announced on July 24, just hours before its scheduled worldwide release. The announcement coincided with the film’s presentation at San Diego Comic-Con 2026 in California, where the makers also confirmed that Sony Pictures Entertainment will distribute the ambitious mythological epic internationally.

“In over 100 years of Indian cinema, this will become a moment of great pride, where Ramayana will be shown to the entire world like any major global Hollywood film. This is special as it opens the door for people around the world to discover the richness of our culture and our stories with renewed pride and enthusiasm,”he wrote.

Although the trailer’s online release has been delayed, the Ramayana panel at San Diego Comic-Con proceeded as planned, with members of the cast and creative team presenting footage and discussing the film before an international audience.

No New Trailer Release Date Announced

The makers have not announced a revised release date for the trailer. The postponement came as a surprise because promotional material had indicated that the trailer would debut globally on July 24 following its exclusive showcase. Instead, the production team confirmed that the public release would happen at a later date as part of the revamped international rollout.

Several reports have linked the delay to the newly signed global distribution agreement, although online speculation has also connected the timing to ongoing events in India. The filmmakers, however, have not officially attributed the postponement to any external developments.

About Ramayana

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. The film has been positioned as one of Indian cinema’s most ambitious productions, combining large-scale visual effects with an international release strategy. On July 20, the makers showcased the trailer at ComicCom San Diego 2026.
