On Wednesday, Australia won their third game of the ICC World Cup 2019 against Pakistan at the Taunton County Ground. The win against Pakistan landed the defending champions at the second place on the points table while Pakistan remain on the 8th spot with just one win in their four games.
Australia and Pakistan both have played four matches, in which the Aussies have garnered six points after winning three games while Pakistan have only 3 points following a win, a loss and a tie.
India will look to avenge their warm-up loss against New Zealand when they meet on Thursday at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. Both the teams are undefeated in the tournament till now. With 3 wins in 3 matches New Zealand are at the top of the table with six points while India are at the 4th spot with four points.

With all 10 teams at the World Cup part of the round-robin group stage, each team will play a total of nine matches before the knockout stages, starting July 9. The top four teams from the group will then progress to the knockout stage i.e. semi-finals and winners of the two semis will play the all-important ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 Final on July 14.
Two points will be awarded to each side winning the match in the league stage. No points for the losing side while points will be split in case of a tied match. At the end of the group stage, if two teams are tied on the points table, they will be ranked based on their Net Run Rate (NRR).
