Yamuna Water Level in Delhi Decreases to 206.02 Metres:

According to the Delhi Flood Control Department, Yamuna’s water level was 206.02 metres at 8 a.m. on Sunday, down from 207.58 metres at the same time yesterday. Several low-lying areas of Delhi, including roads from Kashmere Gate to Majnu Ka Tila, are experiencing less flooding today as the water level steadily recedes, according to the report.

Officials predict that the Yamuna’s water level will fall below the hazard level within the next few hours. At 5 p.m. on July 10, the Yamuna River in Delhi surpassed the danger level of 205.33 metres.

Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m., the Yamuna water level was measured at 207.58 metres. At 9 p.m. on Friday, the Yamuna measured 208.07 metres in height. As the water steadily recedes, however, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic alert restricting movement on Bhairon marg due to flooding under Railway Bridge.

“Traffic Alert: Bhairon Marg traffic is restricted owing to flooding under the Railway Bridge. “Commuters are advised to avoid the stretch,” tweeted the Delhi traffic police. Meanwhile, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams conducted rescue operations in low-lying areas near Pragati Maidan late Saturday night as the Yamuna River continues to overflow, according to officials, who added that waterlogging continues to affect adjacent areas and key roads.

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) conducted a special night drive to drain water from Mathura Road near the Supreme Court, as Saturday’s heavy rains continue to inundate adjacent areas and key roads.
