Minister of State (MoS) for power, coal and energy Piyush Goyal addressed the inaugural edition of Young Makers Conclave organised by SheThePeople.TV on Wednesday. Talking about the young ‘change makers’ he gave out a strong message to the youth of India and urged them to “participate and indulge in the process of policy and decision making.”

“Youth is the future of the country and it is upon them that the baton of the country is entrusted. They are the ones who will make another India, a better, stronger and vibrant India that will inspire the world,” Goyal said via video call. He also spoke about the initiatives taken by him in the power sector. The government’s initiative to make each corner of the country power efficient is being implemented with the help of over 500 ‘vidyut gram karmchari’, who have been employed to oversee and assist the government at the micro level. “Most of the people assisting us are young and jovial men, are full of commitment and determination, (and) are a part of the government’s project. These young people are spanning the length and breadth of the country in order to ensure a more power-efficient India,” said Goyal.

Admitting that better health-care and education is the need of the hour, he urged young generation to avoid the phenomenon of brain drain and utilise the opportunities they have in order to “Make a better India and Make in India.”
