Riding high on the success of Gully Boy, Siddhanth Chaturvedi aka MC Sher has become a household name. He makes his fans go crazy over drool-worthy pictures which he posts on social media. And now, here’s some good news for them who were waiting for him in yet another film. According to a latest report in Mumbai Mirror, if all goes well, Siddhanth Chaturvedi will relive MC Sher’s life in Zoya Akhtar’s next.
Reportedly, producer Ritesh Sidhwani and Zoya are planning a spin-off which will focus on their overnight sensation, the charismatic Sher. A source close to the development told Mirror, “The film is entirely based on Siddhant’s character and traces MC Sher’s journey to becoming a hero. This will also give the makers a chance to delve deeper into the hiphop culture and you can expect many engaging rap battles.”
Gully Boy starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt saw Siddhant as Singh’s mentor. Interestingly, Siddhant was in his final year of CA when he decided to try his hands in acting. Reportedly, Chaturvedi caught Zoya’s eye at the success bash of his web series, soon after which he was asked to audition for the role of MC Sher. Before auditioning for Gully Boy, he wrote a poem, rapped it and bagged his first film with Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. When the actor was asked about his next step he revealed to Mirror, “Even Ritesh is developing something for me.”
