10 killed, 17 injured in suicide bombing in Syria

10 people were killed and 17 persons wounded on Thursday by a suicide bombing in the Kafarsuseh neighbourhood in the capital Damascus. Two suicide bombers shatter their explosives near the Muhafaza sport club in Kafarsuseh west of Damascus, as per India Today reports.

The Syrian army and allied Shiite fighters are too close to capture the Barada Valley region northwest of Damascus, in a bid to secure the Ain Fijeh springs, the main water source feeding the capital. This could be the probable reason for the blast and conflict.

As the blast took place the state TV aired the footage of the blast site. As gor as it could get, with stills of bloodstained walls and charred car cases as a number of policemen holding their rifles roamed in the area.

Syria accuses Israel for targeting their key airbase as a blast shook the key military airbase west of the capital Damascus after midnight on Friday. The vicinity of the airbase was heavily hit last month and the Syrian army then said that Israeli rockets landed near a base. As per reports from Syrian local media, Israeli rocket fire were targeting the airbase. The state TV also reported of several explosions which were heard in the vicinity of the Mazzeh airbase in the Mazzeh neighborhood west of Damascus.
