UP: Man hears cries near pond, saves 20-day-old baby buried alive

A soul ripping incident took place in Agra when a 12-day old baby was snatched and killed by a monkey. The incident happened near NH-2 in the Kachchara Thok colony of Runkata, at the outskirts of Agra.

The body of the victim, identified as Arush(alias Sunny), was recovered from the neighbour’s roof.

According to the reports, the incident occurred when the victim’s mother Neha was feeding him.

“The main door of the house was open, and my wife was breastfeeding our son, when suddenly from nowhere a monkey barged inside our house and grabbed him from his neck. Before Neha could understand anything, the monkey took away our son. After a chase, the monkey left our son on neighbour’s roof but it was too late, Arush was heavily bleeding from neck and had no pulse. We took him to nearby private hospital, where he was declared dead,” said Yogesh, the victim’s father.

Neha and Yogesh have been married for two years and Arush was their only son.

“The victim’s body has been sent for post-mortem and would be handed over to family soon. The toddler’s skull and neck suffered grave injury- we saw the open wounds,”, said Atbir Singh, in-charge of Runkata police outpost, in a conversation with TOI.
