1500 Family Tax Rebate: Many Arizonans could be eligible for a one-time Arizona Families Tax Rebate, as outlined in Governor Hobbs’ bipartisan 2023 budget. This rebate is designed to acknowledge and support the vital contributions Arizona families have made to the state’s ongoing prosperity by providing financial assistance to those who qualify.
To be eligible for this rebate, you must have filed an Arizona full-year resident personal income tax return for the 2021 tax year and claimed at least one child tax credit on that return.

The rebate is available to individuals who filed as the head of household, single, married filing separately, or as the principal taxpayer on a married filing jointly return. Additionally, you have to have owed the state of Arizona personal income taxes totalling at least $1 for one of the tax years 2020, 2019 or 2021.
The rebate offers qualified taxpayers $250 for each dependent under the age of 17 and $100 for each dependent over the age of 17, as shown on your 2021 tax return. However, the maximum amount of reimbursement per taxpayer is three, irrespective of the age of the dependents. The maximum rebate for an individual, head of household, or married couple filing separately is $750; for those filing jointly, it can be as much as $1,500.
“For taxpayers who provided direct deposit information when they filed their returns in 2021 or 2022, the rebates will be issued by direct deposit,” reads the Arizona Department of Revenue website. “If ADOR does not have the taxpayer’s direct deposit information, paper checks will be mailed to the taxpayer’s last known address.

“Rebate amounts are determined using the data from your previously filed tax returns for 2021 and 2022. Because of this, if the rebate payment is not successfully processed and your direct deposit information is out of date, the Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) will send a paper check to your last known address.”
