2000 Energy Assistance California: The REACH and REACH Triple Match programs from PG&E have grown to help more people with their energy bills. The most that can be helped has gone up from $1,000 to $2,000, which is a bigger boost to financial aid.

Also, the income limit has been raised so that more families can apply based on their total household income. This is especially helpful for families with modest incomes who might not have been able to get help before.

In addition, customers with unpaid bills can now use the programs, making sure that people who are having trouble making their payments can still get help.

Lastly, people who have already gained from these programs can apply again. This makes it easier for families to get more help when they need it. The goal of these changes is to help a wider range of families who are having trouble paying their energy bills in every way.

Verification of income is a requirement for all applicants to the REACH and REACH Triple Match programs. This criterion guarantees that aid is provided to those who require it.

Except for individuals engaged in the Arrearage Management Plan (AMP), who are not eligible for REACH or REACH Triple Match, customers who are currently on a payment plan are now able to apply for these programs.

Some people who meet the standards will get even more in 2024. Customers who received REACH or REACH Triple Match points earlier in the year may be able to get a second credit because of the new rules.

People who get REACH benefits simply get the extra benefits; they don’t have to reapply. People who have already received a Triple Match and still owe money can make a second gift and get more matching credit at a 3-to-1 ratio.

This help is only available for residential PG&E accounts that serve single homes or flats. The programs don’t cover “cooking only” accounts, business or industrial accounts, or apartments that share energy services. Accounts in Section 8 or government-subsidized housing may be able to apply, though.
