Do Your Job in the Mountains

A lot of people visit the temples, forts, and other tourist spots in Dharamshala, but the real beauty of the city can be found in the spots that only locals know about. During the day, you can work, but in the early morning and late evening, you can walk around the city, meet nice people, and eat yummy momos.

Take a stroll around McLeod Gunj.

You can get a sense of how cute this little town is by taking a walk through the main street. The town is still busy just before midnight. We recommend eating at places in the area that serve Himachali food, such as “House of Tibet.” You can also buy winter clothes from people who live there and make sweaters, vests, and gloves by hand using old-fashioned patterns.

You can also just walk over to the Tibetian Institute of Performing Arts and check out any shows that are going on there. Or just stay at the top and enjoy the view of the mountains.

Follow the trail to Bhagsu and Triund.

You can take a cab from Dharamkot to Bhagsu Falls. You could also go on a camping trip to Triund for the night. You’ll take a bus to the landing, then walk up the hill for four hours. If you’ve never been on a trip before, it might be a bit hard for you. Still, you will get to the base camp, where you can see a beautiful sunset in the evening, a sky full of stars at night, and a warm sunrise over the Himalayas in the morning.

There are a lot of monasteries in and around Dharamshala that people can visit to get mental rest and learn about Tibetan culture in India.
