Turmeric can be more or less be termed as a golden spice as it is a wonderful remedy for a variety of ill-fed diseases. Indian foods use turmeric as the base ingredient, which not only imparts the bright yellow colour to our dishes, but also levels up their nutritional aspect to our food. While consuming turmeric spice through our foods is a routine, turmeric (in the form of drinks) may give us better results and help our body to remain healthy.

The healthy aspects of turmeric-based drinks has a wide variety of range, it can be from getting your antioxidant fix to strengthening immunity and digestion. Drinking turmeric also improves skin and thickens hair and provides good health, and many ways to cure ashes, flu and swelling.

Turmeric as a beverage can be used in a variety of ways-

Turmeric Milk

Turmeric latte can be a rage in the West, but our households have seen it for eons now. It’s nothing but milk boiled with turmeric – what we know as ‘haldi wala doodh’. The drink needs to be gulped on night , since it works better during the night hours.

Turmeric Soup

Slices of turmeric dipped with other veggies- Isn’t it a great mix for a healthy and tasty soup- tomato, mushroom, chicken, or any soup you like. Just add a pinch of turmeric spice to the soup, give it a nice stir and let it boil along with other foods to make a health-giving soup.

Turmeric Detox Water

Turmeric needs to be added with foods like lemon or honey and boil everything together in water to make a refreshing detox turmeric drink. It’s best to have this drink early in the morning to stay afresh and start a fresh day.

Turmeric Tea

If you are a tea lover, turmeric tea will be the preferred tea for you. Brew your usual tea leaves/bags in water and add a pinch of turmeric to it. Let it boil for a while and enjoy the slurp of a hot turmeric tea.
