A 12-year-old student of the 4th class allegedly died by suicide at his home after his father refused to give him the smartphone to play the mobile game in Madhya Pradesh. The incident took place on Monday in Dhana village, about 20 km from Sagar district headquarter.

Father refused to give phone to play Free Fire game

Dhana SHO Neeraj Jain said on Tuesday that Rohan Patel died by suicide by hanging when his father refused to give him the phone. He was addicted to playing the battle royale ‘Free Fire’ game on mobile. His father Sitaram Patel works at the cart of ‘Phulki’.

On Monday morning, he refused to give his son the phone for playing the mobile game. Thereafter, his father moved out of the house for some work.

Rohan was outraged at the absence of mobile

When he returned home a little later, he called Rohan and asked him to eat. But Rohan didn’t eat lunch. His father explains that he was angry with what happened in the morning. Rohan then went to the other room of the house and closed the door. Rohan’s mother was cooking and other family members were eating food at that time.

Hanged with a towel

In the meantime, Rohan hanged himself with a towel. After a while, when the family members got up after eating lunch, they found Rohan hung on the noose in another room.

Jain said that the family immediately rushed him to the Community Health Centre, where doctors pronounced him dead. He said, the police have registered a case in this regard and started the investigation.
