Kairana Lok Sabha constituency, which recently underwent elections due to the demise of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)MP Hukum Singh is set for a tough contest between incumbent Rashtriya Lok Dal MP Tabassum Hasan and BJP candidate Pradeep Chaudhary; Mriganka Singh who competed in the bypolls has been denied the ticket by BJP.
She was defeated by Tabassum Hasan who fought on the Rashtriya Lok Dal ticket, backed by the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party.
The Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh will take place across seven phases, with eight constituencies to go for elections in the first phase on April 11, as announced by the Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora on March 10.
The Election Commission of India announced that the general elections will begin on April 11, with the last phase taking place on May 19, the results are slated to be announced on May 23.
Uttar Pradesh has a total of 80 Lok Sabha constituencies.
Elections in the Kairana constituency will take place in the first phase of the General Elections 2019 on April 11.
In the 2018 Bypolls RLD’ Tabassum Hasan defeated BJP’ Mriganka Singh.
