Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) chief and Rajya Sabha MP, Shibu Soren has been shifted from Ranchi’s Medanta to Gurugram adjoining Delhi after his health deteriorated on Tuesday. The decision was taken in the core meeting of Medanta management.
76-year-old Soren and his wife Rupi Soren were tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday following which they were put in home isolation in their residence in Ranchi. However, taking into account his age and medical record, the former chief minister was shifted to the Medanta Hospital here in the evening.
JMM chief’s son and Chief Minister Hemant Soren had informed on twitter that his parents were tested positive and had been put in home isolation for faster recovery. Hemant Soren also went through the Covid test and his reports were negative.
Earlier on August 7, 12 security guards posted at Shibu Soren’s official residence in Ranchi’s Morabadi ground tested positive for the viral infection.
Meanwhile, the Covid-19 cases in Jharkhand surged to 31,118 on Tuesday. The death toll touched 335. The recovery rate of the state has reached to 67.56%. The mortality rate stood at 1.07%.
