New Bill in Congress Proposes $5,000 Stimulus Check for Shopping, 500 Stimulus Payment September

Stimulus Check for Shopping: In recent months, many retailers have encountered difficulties, which is not a secret. Prominent retail chains such as Bed Bath & Beyond, Tuesday Morning, and Christmas Tree Shops have liquidated their entire portfolios by declaring bankruptcy. To reduce expenses, Walgreens, Pizza Hut, CVS, Boston Market, TGI Fridays, Popeyes, and Rite Aid have also been compelled to close locations.

Not only large corporations but also small businesses are struggling to survive in this economic downturn. To turn things around, some members of Congress have proposed paying Americans to purchase.

Debbie Dingell of Michigan and Ro Khanna of California presented the Made in the USA Tax Credit Act. Democratic lawmakers seek to boost small American business sales with financial incentives.

The idea would provide tax credits of up to $5,000 for couples and $2,500 for individuals who buy goods that meet FTC Made in the USA requirements. This label indicates mostly American-made products. Small enterprises with fewer than 500 people make the products targeted.

Who Qualifies for the $1312 Stimulus Check?

Tobacco, guns, luxury goods, and cars will be banned. Individuals and married couples must earn no more than $125,000 and $250,000, respectively, to qualify for the benefit.

Dingell said in a news release, “American manufacturing promotes growth and innovation. I am proud to co-introduce the Made in the USA bill with Representative Khanna, which encourages customers to buy American and support local family-owned businesses. In the meantime, Khanna said, “This bill will support American businesses and workers while making goods more affordable for consumers.”

This component is essential to a comprehensive policy package that should restore the US’s manufacturing and technology leadership. It also encourages employees to show gratitude for their efforts toward this goal.

Before the proposal becomes a reality, much work remains. The House Committee on Ways and Means introduced it, but it needs to pass the Senate, House, and President Joe Biden’s signature to become law.
