Videos and photos shared on social media show people lining up outside Costco stores and even fighting inside to grab these cards. This high demand has led to shoving, scuffles, and even punches being thrown between customers and more violent behaviors.
A man bear-hugged another from behind to snatch two boxes of Pokémon collectibles from him. The man clutching the boxes fought back, delivering a sharp elbow jab to his attacker’s jaw, but the grip remained unbroken.
Amidst the struggle, the man holding the boxes shouted, “Get the f*ck off me!” while desperately trying to free himself. In the background another voice said “He’s been here since seven in the morning!”

The euphoria for the cards has caused concern, with many worried about the safety of Costco employees. On Reddit, one user commented, “God bless that employee and hopefully he doesn’t get hurt in the process.”
In one Reddit post, a user shared images of a fight between two men over the collectible cards. To prevent more violence, Costco has introduced a strict rule:
- Each customer is now limited to buying two packs of Pokémon cards. The store is keeping the cards in secure locations to avoid further incidents.
Each pack contains 150 collectible cards and is priced at around $45. Costco has also displayed clear signs informing shoppers of the new limit to ensure there is no confusion.
This is not the first time Costco has had to set limits on Pokémon merchandise. During the last Black Friday, they restricted the purchase of Pokémon mini tins to three per customer due to similar issues. The measures aim to maintain safety and fairness for all shoppers.
