NEET-UG 2026 Re-Test Security: For what is believed to be one of India’s most intensive exam security operations, NTA has put experts who set the NEET-UG 2026 re-exam question paper under lockdown until June 21. The one-of-a-kind initiative was decided days after cancellation of the original NEET-UG exam due to alleged paper leak. The issue impacted more than 22 lakh aspiring medical students across the nation.

The question setters, moderators, translators and other experts are said to have been taken to a secure secret location and banned from using mobile phones, laptops, internet services or communicating with anyone. The communication black-out is said to be lifted after the re-exam on June 21 is concluded successfully.

NEET-UG 2026 Re-Test Security

The new NTA security measure marks an extraordinary leap in protecting the integrity of examination. Every individual involved in the development of the new question paper has been kept in lockdown by allegedly being taken to a safe location where their access to digital devices or any external source of information is denied.

Sources say that a rigorous operating system is created, where no unauthorised persons are allowed access to this safe haven. The intention is to eliminate any scope for leakage of examination materials.

No Phones, No Internet, No External Contact

The most unprecedented part of the NTA security operation is completely denying any connection with the external world for question setters and translators.

Individuals responsible for preparing the examination have reportedly been denied access to mobile phones, laptops, emailing services, social media and the internet. Even communication with family and close relatives has been minimized during this period.

Re-NEET-UG 2026

The NEET-UG 2026 re-exam was announced following the cancellation of the exam held on May 3, which was marred by allegations of paper leaks and exam malpractices. The issue had raised serious concern among students, parents and the education fraternity; it compelled authorities to order a re-examination.

The NEET-UG 2026 re-examination will be conducted in traditional pen-and-paper mode on June 21 from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM across 551 cities.

NTA’s Multi-Layer Security Blueprint

Not only have question setters been kept in isolation but NTA has reportedly also introduced stringent measures to ensure allround security.

“A multi-layer security blueprint for the NEET UG re-test this month is being deployed, which the government described as among the “toughest” in recent years, ” stated a report. More than 5,00,000 security personnel are said to be deployed across the country, with advanced tech like facial recognition, biometric scanning, and real-time CCTV surveillance integrated to ensure fair conduct of the exam.

The NTA said it will “round-the-clock monitor social media platforms, messaging apps and online forums to identify fake question papers, misinformation campaigns and suspicious activities”, to further prevent leakage. The government is also planning to use the Indian Air Force aircrafts for a swift and secure transport of question papers to all exam centres nationwide.
