Xiaomi 18 Fold Price: Xiaomi has launched a new foldable phone called the Xiaomi 18 Fold in China. It was announced on September 7, 2026, and it brings a different design from Xiaomi’s older Mix Fold phones. The new model is shorter and wider when it’s closed. Xiaomi has made it more like a small book or passport shape.
The phone arrived just days before Apple introduced the iPhone Duo on September 9. Huawei also launched its Mate XT2 around the same time. Xiaomi 18 Fold sales in China started on September 10, with the starting price set at CNY 10,999. For now, the phone is still a China-market device and Xiaomi hasn’t announced an official Nigerian launch date. Recent reports also say there’s no global release information yet.
For Nigerian buyers, this means the phone may be available through import sellers, but it shouldn’t be treated as an officially launched Xiaomi Nigeria model. The final local price can also be much higher than the direct China conversion because of shipping, taxes, seller profit and exchange-rate changes.

Xiaomi 18 Fold Full Specifications
Design and durability

The Xiaomi 18 Fold has a wide body which makes it quite different from the tall and narrow foldables many people are used to. It measures 117.8 x 83.6 x 10.68mm when folded. Once opened, it measures 117.8 x 163.8 x 5.02mm. The whole phone weighs 219g.
The standard versions come in Black, Warm Gold White and Xiye Red. The Ceramic Special Edition has a different finish.
- A three-link Xiaomi Dragon Bone hinge
- Dual-layer ultra-thin glass on the folding screen
- A 7000-series aluminium frame
- IP58 and IP59 dust and water resistance ratings
The phone’s wide shape gives more room when it’s opened, but the 83.6mm width when closed is worth thinking about. It may feel wider in the hand than a normal phone.

Display
The 18 Fold has two AMOLED screens. The outside display measures 5.38 inches and the inside panel measures 7.58 inches. Both support a 1-120Hz LTPO refresh rate and Xiaomi advertises peak brightness of up to 4,000 nits.
- Cover screen: 1712 x 1168 pixels
- Inner screen: 2364 x 1672 pixels
The inner display also uses a dual-layer UTG design. This is made to improve protection on the folding panel.
Performance and software
Xiaomi has used its own 3nm XRING O3 chip in the 18 Fold. It’s a deca-core processor and comes with an Arm G2-Ultra NX graphics processor. The phone can be configured with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage.
The 16GB versions use LPDDR6 memory, while other versions use LPDDR5X. Storage is UFS 4.1. The phone runs HyperOS 4 based on Android 17.
Xiaomi has also built foldable-focused software into the phone. Users can open multiple apps at once, use floating windows and switch between different layouts. A desktop-style WPS mode is also included for office work.
Camera setup
The camera system is one of the biggest features of the Xiaomi 18 Fold. It has three rear cameras:
- 200MP main camera with OIS
- 50MP ultra-wide camera
- 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom and up to 7x optical-quality zoom
There are also 16MP front cameras on both displays. The rear camera system can record video up to 8K at 24fps and 4K at 60fps.
The Leica camera partnership is another major part of the setup. The telephoto lens is useful for portraits and distant subjects, while the main 200MP sensor is aimed at high-resolution photography.
Battery and charging
Xiaomi has fitted a 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery into the phone. It supports 67W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
That battery is quite large for a foldable phone, especially considering the phone weighs 219g. Actual battery life will still depend on network use, gaming, brightness and how often the large inner screen is used.
Connectivity and SIM
The Xiaomi 18 Fold supports:
- Dual nano-SIM
- 5G
- Wi-Fi 7
- Bluetooth 6.0
- NFC
- UWB
- USB 3.2 Gen 2
For Nigerian buyers, the 5G bands and carrier support should be checked before buying an imported version. MTN Nigeria says customers need a 5G-capable device and coverage in their area to use its 5G network.

Google apps and imported China models
This is one area Nigerian buyers should pay close attention to. A China-market Android phone may not offer exactly the same software setup as a global model. Before paying for an imported unit, check whether Google Play, Google services and your normal apps work properly.
Google says Play Protect certification can be checked through the Google Play Store by going to Profile, Settings, About and then checking the Play Protect certification status. Google also warns that apps and features may not work properly on devices that aren’t certified.
