A Guide Using WSA and BlueStacks: You can obtain and utilise Threads for Android on your computer. You can launch the application using either Windows Subsystem for Android or an Android emulator for PC, such as Bluestacks.

Windows Subsystem for Android is available for download from the Microsoft Store, whereas Android emulators can be located on their respective websites.

Threads is a brand-new social networking platform that appears to be sweeping the globe. Threads is an Instagram-integrated microblogging platform created by Meta to capitalise on Instagram’s large user base, which appears to be working quite well given that it has surpassed 100 million users.

You can participate in public conversations and post replies or your own threads using Threads. You can use this to discover users with similar interests and to connect with them. Currently, Threads is only accessible via mobile applications for Android and iOS. This has discouraged many PC users around the world who wish to continue using the platform. Therefore, if you are in a similar situation, here are two workarounds that will allow you to use Threads on your PC.

A Guide Using WSA and BlueStacks:  How to use Threads on a personal computer

To utilise Threads, you must install the Android application on your computer. Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) or an Android emulator can be used for this purpose. Both of these approaches are covered below. You have the option of using Threads on your computer.

We recommend using WSA because it is inherently supported by Windows 11 and has a low resource footprint. Nonetheless, the process can be somewhat monotonous. If you’re looking for a relatively straightforward method that allows you to use Threads with a few simple clicks, we suggest using an Android emulator instead.

Using the Windows Subsystem for Android

Windows Subsystem for Android enables native Android application execution on Windows 11. Follow the instructions below to install and use WSA in order to use Threads on your computer. Let’s get begun.

First, install WSA

Here’s how to install WSA on your computer.

Start Microsoft Store on your computer.

Now, select the search bar at the top and type Amazon Appstore into the search box.

Click and choose the identical result from the search results.

Select Install.

You will now be notified that WSA is required to access the Appstore. To begin, click Download in the lower-right corner.

Windows Subsystem for Android will be downloaded and installed on your computer at this time.

Use the subsequent section to install and utilise Threads on your computer.

A Guide Using WSA and BlueStacks: Install and utilise Threads

Now that Windows Subsystem for Android is installed on your computer, we can sideload and use Threads on your computer. The procedures listed below will assist you with the process.

Open the Start menu, search for Windows Subsystem for Android, and then launch it.

Now click the Advanced settings link on the left.

Click and enable the Developer mode toggle.

Click Developer settings management. This will activate the WSA and provide access to the developer settings.

Scroll through developer settings and enable USB debugging under Debugging. If the toggle is disabled, it can be enabled by clicking on it.

Now exit WSA and developer settings, then relaunch WSA from the Start menu.

Click Advanced settings again in the sidebar on the left.

Check the Developer mode listing on your right. You should see 127.0.0.1:58526 as the connection address for ADB.

Next, click on the link below to obtain Threads from APKMirror.

Under All versions, select on the most recent version.

Now select the download icon next to the x86_64 architecture APK.

Next, select APK DOWNLOAD. The APK will be downloaded immediately. Save the file to an accessible location on your computer.

Visit the link below once complete to download Google’s SDK Platform Tools.

Click the distribution link that corresponds to your operating system, whether you’re using Windows, Mac, or Linux.

A Guide Using WSA and BlueStacks

You will now be presented with the SDK platform utility terms and conditions. Check the box marked I have read and agree to the above terms and conditions at the bottom of the page.

Click Download Android SDK Platform-Tools for Windows when finished. This option differs depending on whether you’re using a Mac or Linux computer.

The SDK Platform Tools are now being downloaded to your computer. Save the archive in an easily accessible location. Once the archive has been downloaded, extract it using your preferred method. You can accomplish the same thing on Windows by selecting Extract all from the right-click context menu or the upper ribbon menu.

Click Browse… and select the location where you desire to extract the archive.

If the box for Show extracted files when complete is unchecked, select it.

Click Extract.

Navigate to the platform-tools folder and right-click on an unoccupied area once the archive has been extracted.

Click Open in Terminal now.

Enter the command below and press Enter.

adb devices

Use the following command to establish a connection with your PC.

adb bind 127.0.0.1:58526

In a new WSA window, you will now be prompted to authenticate the connection. Mark the box next to Always allow from this computer if you want to grant access to your computer indefinitely.

To grant the necessary permissions, click Allow.

Use this command again to verify the status of connected devices. Your computer should now appear if everything went as planned.

Next, launch the file explorer and navigate to the APK that was previously downloaded. Choose the APK and select the F2 key on your keyboard.

Press the Enter key on your keyboard after renaming the APK to Threads.

Now, copy the APK file and paste it into the platform-tools folder.

Return to Terminal and use the command below to install the APK.

the command: adb install Threads.apk

Now, Threads will be installed on your computer. If everything went well and the app installation was successful, you should see Success as shown below.

Utilise the Start menu to find Threads. Click the app’s listing in the search results to activate it on your computer.

The application will be installed. You can now select Log in with Instagram to enter your credentials and log in.

And that concludes it! With the APK installed on your computer, you can now utilise Threads at any time.

Method two involves using an Android emulator

There are numerous Android emulators available that you can use to download and run Threads on your computer. For this illustration, we will be examining Bluestacks. However, you are free to use any Android emulator of your choosing.

First, obtain and install Bluestacks

Here is how to download and install Bluestacks on your personal computer. The procedures listed below will assist you with the process.

Visit bluestacks.com/download.html in your internet browser. Once the tab has been opened, select the Download BlueStacks 5 button.

Now, the installation will begin. After downloading the setup, save it to your computer and double-click to run it.

Click Customise installation in the lower-right corner of the window.

Click Change directory.

Now select the install location for Bluestacks.

After selecting the desired subdirectory, click OK.

Click Install now when you are finished.

Your computer will now download and install Bluestacks. Depending on your current network, this may take a few minutes.

After installation, you should be taken to the homepage.

And that concludes it! Bluestacks is now installed on your computer, and you can proceed to the next section to acquire and use Threads on your computer.

Install and utilise Threads

After downloading and installing Bluestacks on your computer, you can install and utilise Threads. Although BlueStacks has its own app store, we will instead obtain and install an APK. Because using the App Centre in Bluestacks necessitates a Google account, this is the case. This can be somewhat dubious, so we recommend avoiding it. The procedures listed below will assist you with the process.

Visit the link below to obtain the Threads APK.

Click the most recent Threads version under All versions.

Next, scroll down and select the download icon adjacent to the x86_64 APK.

Click DOWNLOAD APK in the menu bar.

Now, the installation will begin. Save the APK to an accessible location on your computer.Once Bluestacks has been downloaded, open the Start menu, conduct a search for it, and then activate it from the search results.

Press Ctrl + Shift + B while Bluestacks is open on your screen.

Now navigate to your device’s local storage and select the APK we downloaded previously.

Click Open after selecting the option.

The application will be installed. You can monitor its status at the bottom.

Once installed, the application will appear on the main screen. This link launches Threads.

Now, Threads will be launched on your computer. You can now select Log in with Instagram to access Threads using your Instagram credentials.

Beta version of BlueStacks 5 launched, supports Android 9

Using Bluestacks, you can now use Threads on your computer.
