The makers of the upcoming film Ankhon Ki Gustakhiyan have released the teaser on Wednesday (June 5). Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan is scheduled to be released in theatres across India on 11 July 2025 positioning the movie as a monsoon-season romance. After its theatrical run, it will premiere on the streaming platform ZEE5, likely within 4–8 weeks of its cinematic release.

Synopsis and Inspiration
The film is based on the Ruskin Bond’s beloved short story, “The Eyes Have It”, the narrative follows a chance encounter between a visually impaired musician (Vikrant Massey) and a theater artist (Shanaya Kapoor). As someone who have read the beautiful book, I’m excitedly waiting for it’s adaption on screen. I can’t wait to watch their connection, born on a train ride. It is set to evolve into a tender romance that centers on perception, vulnerability, and emotional intimacy through a journey set between Mussoorie and Mumbai.
It is directed by Santosh Singh and produced by Mansi Bagla and Varun Bagla.The script for “Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyaan” has been penned by acclaimed writers Niranjan Iyengar and Mansi Bagla.
Santosh was considering Vikrant Massey in this cast to portray intense romance roles; he said, “I see him as a romantic hero,” after working with him on Broken But Beautiful (2018).
There were many auditions for the female lead in this project as well. The first choice, Tara Sutaria and the second choice, Pratibha Ranta faced scheduling conflicts. After four months of workshops and working with an acting coach, the decision was made to cast Shanaya Kapoor. Producer Mansi Bagla said that Shanaya brought “acting spark and raw fluidity” to the character.
The chemistry between the two promises insights into an emotional story full of warmth, courage, and the human emotional experience. It is said to be one of the most awaited romantic dramas of the year, with it’s emotional storyline and a new lead pair.
