UP administrative reshuffle: SSP of Saharanpur Luv Kumar transferred

Yogi Adityanath led-government conducted the biggest reshuffle of IAS officials in Uttar Pradesh so far, late on Wednesday. The state government transferred 84 IAS officers, including 38 district magistrates.

Notably, SSP of Saharanpur, Luv Kumar, who prevented a communal flare-up last week in which BJP MP Raghav Lakhanpal Sharma was booked, has been transferred to Noida, as the new SSP of Gautam Budh Nagar. Kumar’s house was also attacked after he banned a procession led by a BJP MP which led to the arrest.

Among the district magistrates shifted out include those of Lucknow, Mainpuri, Etawah, Kannauj, Ghaziabad and Mathura. 11 officials of the Secretary and Principal Secretary ranks have also been re-shuffled.

Also, Hari Narayan Singh, SP (headquarters) in Lucknow, has been appointed new SSP of Ghaziabad in place of Deepak Kumar. Manzil Saini, SSP of Lucknow and the first woman to hold the post, has been sent to Ghaziabad as commandant of the Provincial Armed Constabulary.

SP Gaurav Singh who was in Mahoba has been sent to Rae Bareli as the new district police chief and Shailesh Kumar Pandey has been named as the new SP of Jaunpur and Harvinder as SP of Kannauj.

Interestingly, in the first major reshuffle, Yogi Adityanath government had transferred 20 senior IAS officers.
