After MP and Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan government waives off farmer loans

2 days after within hours the government of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh waived off farmer loans, the Rajasthan‘s newly appointed government has added itself to the list.

In the run-up to the elections of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, the Congress President Rahul Gandhi had said that he would change the Chief Minister if they don’t waive off farmer loans in ten days after the coming the results.

Earlier Kamal Nath had signed on farm loan waiver papers hours after swearing as Madhya Pradesh’s Chief Minister, giving relief of Rs 2 lakhs to the farmer who had availed loans from nationalised and government banks situated in MP as short-term crop loans noted by 31 March 2018.

In Chattisgarh’s first cabinet meeting of the new government, CM Bhpesh Bhagel took two crucial decisions. Other than waiving the farm loans the Chhattisgarh government also increased Minimum Support Price for maize from Rs 1700 to Rs 2500.
