A class 12 student in Punjab died by suicide after the Policeman allegedly lied to his father that he was carrying a condom in his pocket. The incident took place in Amritsar’s Mohakampura area. The victim left a suicide note in which he claimed to be innocent and police made false accusations against him.

“Papa, I have never done anything wrong. Those policemen were lying. You believed what the cops said. I did not know where that thing (condom) came from. Bye Papa, I am going away,” the victim reportedly wrote in his suicide note.

The 18-year-old youth was driving a two-wheeler without wearing a helmet. After being stopped and penalised by the police, he was taken to his father’s shop by them, as per the report in Dainik Bhaskar.

The police official, embarrassing the victim, told his father about a condom in his sons’ pocket. After the incident, the boy went home and hanged himself.

Additional DCP Harpal Singh Randhawa is investigating the case.

Meanwhile, the deceased father blamed the police for their false allegation against his son. His family also revealed that the police wanted to fine Rs 500 extra even after his son paid the penalty.
