AP students launch online campaign asking to cancel Board Exams 2020, trends #10thstudents_livesmatter on Twitter

Due to the ongoing pandemic, only some states have decided to cancel the remaining board exams and to promote students to the next academic year by marking them on the basis of their internal assessment marks and assignments. While some students across the nation are tensed regarding exams being conducted in the upcoming days amid coronavirus pandemic.

Students of Andhra Pradesh have expressed their worries and unwillingness to take the exam by launching an online campaign, citing student’s safety matters and trends #10thstudents_livesmatter on Twitter.

The hashtag went viral and is running as one of the top trends on Twitter, which demands the cancellation of board exams amid the pandemic likewise other states and boards who have cancelled the exams.

Over the past few days, from school board exams to final year exams to entrance tests, there have been deliberations on whether to hold exams or not in such a situation of the pandemic.

Students also called upon authorities for the cancellation of the exam, saying ‘students lives matter’ and arguing that even though lockdown is lifted, the number of coronavirus cases has not decreased.

The Andhra Pradesh students also joined in with hashtag #10thstudents_livesmatter, urging the government to hear their appeals.

After the actor Pawan Kalyan tweeted, the AP government reduced the assembly time due to coronavirus but announced ‘safe’ to conduct the board examinations in the state.

As the protest continues, Andhra Pradesh Education Minister, Adimulapu Suresh earlier notified that the SSC exams will be held as per the schedule released.

Yet, there is no response from the AP board or from the government, and the pending board exams 2020 will be conducted from July 10 to July 15.
