Arjun Patiala Movie Review: Kriti-Diljit’s spoof comedy is too overwhelming to tickle your funny bone

Kriti Sanon and Diljit Dosanjh starrer Arjun Patiala is a spoof comedy that narrates a story of a cop Arjun Patiala (Diljit Dosanjh) and his partner sidekick Onidda Singh (Varun Sharma). Both of them are on a mission to make the town crime-free with their goofy style.

The story is based on a handsome cop Arjun Patiala who has his priorities set and giving him company is his trustworthy but goofy constable Onidda Singh who has given up on women after multiple heartbreaks. He is now settled for a buffalo as his lady love.

No, this is not an end to bizarre things, there is a glamorous TV reporter Ritu Randhawa (Kriti Sanon) who casually reports on the dreadful goons present in the town.  MLA Prapti Makkad (Seema Pahwa) who is often referred to as “property Makkar’ for her wicked deals in the real estate.

There is also a goon called Sakool (Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub) and a host of other quirky characters including IPS Gill (Ronit Roy) who is for the most part, is only the sorted one. All of them are part of a fictional story of a formula narrated by a writer who often breaks the wall and talks to the audience.

There is a cameo by Sunny Leone in the film. Diljit Dosanjh delivers decent performance with few comedy moments. His character is likable because of his innocence and the leading lady Kriti Sanon looks flawless but her character is totally the opposite of it. The one who will continuously make you laugh is Varun Sharma.

The second half of the film is childish and pointless and the climax is not what you will find worthy. There was no cheap humor in the film and the music is average except for one peppy dance number.
