Karnataka: Former Karnataka Chief Minister B.S.Yeddyurappa, who had earlier rubbished by saying that the voice in the clip was not his voice in the audio clips released by Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, took a U-turn on Sunday by admitting that he did meet Sharanagouda, son of JD(S) MLA from Gurmitkal Naganagouda Kandkur.

Speaking to the press at Hubballi Airport, Mr. Yeddyurappa, however, accused Mr. Kumarswamy of writing the script for the recording and editing the clip as per his convenience.

“Kumaraswamy is indulging in third-grade politics. It is true that I met Shankargouda. Kumaraswamy sent the MLA’s son to me to make me speak according to their requirements and then used whatever was useful to them. But they have covered up a few truths”, he said.

Mr. Yeddyurappa has referred to the earlier statement of Prajwal Revanna about ‘suitcase culture’ in JD(S) and said the clip pertaining Mr. Kumaraswamy’s demand for money for giving MLC post would be released on Monday. Mr. Yeddyurappa said he was ready to face any inquiry regarding the audio clips.

Further clarifying his statement he had made regarding his retire from politics if the accusation made by Kumaraswamy was true he said “I said that I never mentioned offering Rs 50 crore to the Honourable Speaker. If this accusation is proved I said I will retire from politics.”

Mr. Kumaraswamy on Friday had released two audio tapes allegedly of the BJP State president trying to lure JD(S) MLA with the promise of money and position. Earlier, Yeddyurappa had claimed that the audio clip was fake and that he had not met anyone.
