Lok Sabha Election 2024 Phase 2 Polling: State-wise Schedule, Constituencies, and Candidates to Watch

Interestingly, all 20 Lok Sabha seats in Kerela will vote on Friday, while eight constituencies in Uttar Pradesh are scheduled to vote in the second phase of the ongoing general elections.

Lok Sabha Election 2024 Phase 2 Polling: On Friday, April 26, the second phase of the 18th Lok Sabha Elections will take place following the initial phase of voting on April 19, which saw approximately 64 percent turnout. In the second phase of the election, 89 constituencies in 13 states and Union territories (UT) will go to the polls.

Interestingly, all 20 Lok Sabha seats in Kerela will vote on Friday, while eight constituencies in Uttar Pradesh are scheduled to vote in the second phase of the ongoing general elections.

The list of constituencies to be voted on in Phase two of Lok Sabha

  • Assam: Karimganj, Silchar, Mangaldoi, Nawgong, Kaliabor
  • Bihar: Kishanganj, Katihar, Purnia, Bhagalpur

  • Kerala: Kasaragod, Kannur, Vatakara, Wayanad, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Ponnani, Palakkad, Alathur, Thrissur, Chalakudy, Ernakulam, Idukki, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Mavelikkara, Pathanamthitta, Kollam, Attingal, Thiruvananthapuram
  • Manipur: Outer Manipur

Phase 2 of the Lok Sabha elections: Key Constituencies and Candidates

In Phase 2 of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the following candidates will be contesting:

  • Rahul Gandhi, Congress leader from Wayanad
  • From Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, Congress’ Shashi Tharoor will face BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar
  • Bhupesh Baghel, former Chhattisgarh CM
  • DK Suresh, a Congress leader from Bangalore Rural
  • Shobha Karandlaje of the BJP represents Bangalore North
  • Tejasvi Surya is a BJP leader from Bangalore South
  • HD Kumaraswamy, leader of the JDS and former chief minister of Karnataka
  • BJP leader Anil Antony from Pathanamthitta
  • BJP’s Gajendra Singh Shekhawat from Jodhpur
  • Congress candidate Vaibhav Gehlot from Jalore
  • BJP leader Hema Malini from Mathura
  • BJP’s leader Arun Govil from Meerut

The Lok Sabha Election scheduled for 2024 is divided into seven phases

  • Phase 1: April 19
  • Phase 2: April 26
  • Phase 3: May 7
  • Phase 4: May 13
  • Phase 5: May 20
  • Phase 6: May 25
  • Phase 7: June 1

The counting of votes will be done on June 4.
