  • Infrastructure deficits: Roads, school facilities are reported issues. These often come up in campaign promises.

What to Watch During the 2025 Contest?

1. Alliance Plays & Seat Sharing: Given Bihar’s shifting alliances (e.g. NDA, MGB etc.), which parties align with whom will matter. If opposition parties unite, BJP’s dominance could be challenged.

2. Candidate Selection (SC Identity + Local Appeal): Since the seat is SC reserved, the personal profile, caste identity (within SC category), local roots of the candidate will be significant. The ability to project someone with credibility in both community welfare and development will matter.

3. Voter Turnout & Youth/New Voters: With increasing numbers of new or first-time voters, especially among youth, election dynamics could shift. Their priorities (jobs, infrastructure, services) could swing margins.

4. Local Issues vs State/National Narrative: Infrastructure, schools, roads, electricity, water, health posts: performance on these at the local level may override big party slogans, especially in rural gram panchayats.

5. Margin Shrink or Growth: BJP has increased its margin in recent elections; whether that continues or whether opposition can cut down the margin (or flip the seat) will be a key indicator of broader trends in SC reserved constituencies.
