Bengaluru: 11-year old girl dies while enacting suicide scene from TV serial

A bizarre incident was reported from Bengaluru where a minor girl allegedly died while imitating a suicide scene from a TV serial she was watching.

The deceased identified as Pooja (11) died after she hung herself to a wall hanger using a towel at her house in Mallasandra. The girl was a fifth standard student of a private school.

Reportedly, the girl’s parents run a roadside eatery near the house and when the incident happened she alone at home.

The police said that Pooja had gone to the shop with her mother and younger brother but later returned home for dinner. One of the neighbors claimed that she went to buy curd at around 7 pm and returned home and she was alive around 8 pm.

When her parents returned home around 9:30 pm they found the girl hanging to a wall hanger. The couple got down Pooja and rushed her to a nearby hospital where the doctor declared her brought dead on arrival.

Following which the police reached the spot to investigate the matter, initial reports suggested that there was no foul play in her death.

As their house is located in a densely populated area, their neighbors claimed that they did not hear anything suspicious. The police have suspected that Pooja was trying to enact a suicide scene and ended her life.

The probe into the matter is on and the police are awaiting parents to finish the last rites and after that, the questioning with the parents about the matter will resume.
