In the third match of the Australia-India Test series, both the sides were involved in healthy bantering throughout. But it was the rivalry between Rishabh Pant and Tim Paine which trumped it all. Tim Paine, the Australian captain and wicketkeeper asked his counterpart if he can babysit Paine’s kids.
After Rishabh came to bat in the second innings, Paine said, “Tell you what big MS is back in the one day squad. Should get this bloke down to Hurricanes, they need a batter. Fancy that extend you Aussie holiday, beautiful town Hobart too, get him a waterfront apartment. Have him over for dinner.” The Aussie skipper went on to further say, “Do you babysit? I can take my wife to the movies while you watch the kids.” Turns out after the match, Pant actually met the Tim Paine’s wife and the kids.
Paine’s wife, Bonnie recently on her Instagram account shared an image of her, with kids and Rishabh Pant. She even added a caption, titled, “Best babysitter #rishabpant”.

Pant had given one back to Paine when the latter came out to bat.
On the fourth day, it was the 40th over which was being bowled by Ravindra Jadeja when Paine was yet to open his account. Rishabh Pant started chattering with fielder Mayank Agarwal over the Aussie captain.
Pant said, “You got a special guest today…come on manki (Mayank Agarwal). Have you heard a word temporary captain? Hain mank (Mayank)? Have you heard the word temporary captain ever? You don’t need anything to get him out. He loves to talk, that’s the only thing he can do.”
Apparently, Paine got the captaincy after their key players David Warner, Steven Smith were banned from playing Test cricket for 12 months over ball tampering.
