In a shocking incident, a man allegedly killed his maternal uncle and aunt on the suspicion that she was performing black magic to haunt his family. The incident happened in Anuppur district on Tuesday when the 43-year-old accused identified as Shankhu Gond reportedly beheaded his aunt and buried the head in the belief that she “won’t come back as a ghost to haunt them”.

Going by the reports, villagers of Dudhmania informed the police officials about two dead bodies lying in the jungle. On investigation, it was found that one of the deceased was 65-year-old Bhagwandin Gond, who bore several stab injuries. The other deceased was suspected to be his wife Beshani Gond however, they couldn’t be sure as her head was missing.

Villagers had seen Shankhu with blood-stained weapons and clothes. He was tracked down on Wednesday. On his arrest, he admitted to the crime and told police officials that his aunt was a witch, doing black magic on his family. His son had fallen ill recently, and his cattle had died. He thought his aunt was responsible for everything bad happening to his family.
